ST ALBANS SCHOOL SCHOOL PORTER (SECURITY AND LOGISTICS) Salary circa £21,600-£22,700 per annum dependent on experience, generous holiday entitlement and contributory pension We are looking to recruit a School Porter to join our established Estates team. Under the direction of the Head Porter, the job holder will maintain an overview of site-wide security using the CCTV and access control systems, be responsible for the receipt and onward distribution, via the portering team, of all parcels delivered to site, in addition to overseeing the School car parks and liaising with staff, pupils and visitors in a safe and polite manner. Previous experience of using CCTV and access control systems is required, with security work experience being advantageous. Basic computer literacy, including email, is essential. The appointment is full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required for occasional weekend and evening work. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT) Salary £23,586 (£27,132.73 full time equivalent) gross per annum plus benefits including generous contributory pension scheme and life assurance. A Laboratory Technician is required to join the Science Department at St Albans School, within the Biology Department. The role involves the preparation of equipment and other resources for lessons, supporting teaching staff and clearing away after lessons. The role will also involve supporting Chemistry and Physics Technicians at busy times of the year. Previous work experience in a scientific field would be desirable, in particular working within a school Science Department, as would knowledge of the secondary school curriculum for Science/Biology. Proficient IT skills, including email, is essential. Hours are 37.5 hours per week, for 38 weeks per academic year (Term Time plus two weeks during school holidays).
