The trust was originally formed in 2011 by Roundwood Park School and Sir John Lawes Schools in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and Rothamsted Research. The organisations linked by the Trust work together to share facilities, provide additional opportunities for students, combine their expertise and consult each other about how best to keep improving. In 2013 St George’s School joined the Trust so that all three outstanding Harpenden secondary schools are now represented within the organisation, ensuring it has the widest possible impact for Harpenden students.
“Being involved in the establishment of a fourth secondary school in Harpenden is both exciting and humbling. Education is the most valuable investment that we make in our children and indeed our future. Working in partnership with Sir John Lawes, Roundwood Park School , the University of Hertfordshire and Rothamstead Research, St Georges School is making a tangible and lasting contribution to a new project that will have a significantly positive impact on our local community and the families living in it. This is a once in a generation opportunity that St Georges School is delighted to be part of and we believe that this will result in each school benefiting from greater collaboration leading to great opportunity and choice for students.”
